"No, I’m Spanker"

This is all about Oli. He’s such a great kid and he’s really going through a good phase right now. We are almost done potty training and today he made it to the library and then later to the bread store without an accident! That is a huge step. This time around we took a very laid back approach to potty training. The first three weeks we let him run around without pants or underwear on and then when we went out or slept we put a pull up on. Then we gave him a few weeks with underwear on in the house and a pull up still when we went out. Then we added pants to the equation still wearing pull ups while going out. Now were in the underwear while going out phase. So far he’s doing really well. He can “hold it” way longer than the other boys. He’s cracking me up too because he’s been using the word spanker for everything: “You Spanker”, “A, B, C, D, spanker”, “I”m not a Spanker, you’re a Spanker”, “No, I’m a Spanker”. I can’t even remember the myriad of times and ways that he’s said it but it’s really silly and it always comes up out of the blue. Anyway. I love my Oliver.
Edit: I forgot to mention my favorite part about potty training. We got to a point where Oli wouldn’t sit on the potty long enough to get anything out, so I got out my iphone and downloaded some shows (Little Einsteins). I propped the phone next to the toilet on the counter and got a whole half hour out of him. Saved my life.

Happily Reading

So what am I up to now? We’ll I’m reading this great book series called Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. If any of you have read it send me an email and we can chat. I’m seriously addicted to it. I spend all my free time online reading fanfiction or looking at fanart, totally speculating what’s going to happen in book four. Hopefully I wont die of anticipation before it comes out. I love reading. Especially romance (tame)or fantasy. I don’t like heavy stuff. I want to totally escape when I read. So I pretty much stay away from Oprah’s book club nowadays. I did enjoy a few books off of her list in the past, but now I pretty much shop in the teen section. Sad, but true.  If you have any book suggestions I would love to hear them.  You can check out my list to the right and below.  I only have my most recent OR favorite books on there.  Or better yet, join me on Good Reads and we can review books together.

Here’s the most recent pictures we have of the boys having fun. I’m not sure I’m going to use Scrapblog for all of my pictures, but I had fun today.

Christmas 2007

We had a really great Christmas this last year. My Dad and Cheryl were in town from Oregon so we had an early Christmas with them, Brandon, Maria, Emma and Reuben. Then we had Christmas with my Mom and Brandon’s family. Then we went to Scott’s parent’s house. Then Christmas day we went up to see Scott’s grandma. It was a whole lot of fun. Sorry we don’t have pictures of Scott’s parents. I wasn’t so good with the camera that day. But we do love them. Don’t mind my hair either. I don’t know what was happening that day.

Oliver turned three in December. Can you believe it? In January he started Sunbeams. Three kids in Primary. Time flies.

Here are the kids giving each other rides. Can it really be November? They’re in short sleeves. Gotta love California. ( I got my timing off here, this happened before Thanksgiving. Oops)

This is my fist time blogging so be patient with me as I figure it out. This is Halloween 2007. Max had a parade at school and Tru and Oli walked around with him. Grandma and Grandpa Schlegel came to watch. Fun stuff. Emma and Reuben came trick-or-treating with us.
The pages are done on scrapblog.com. These are the only ones I’ve done so far. It’s a really easy process though.
