Big Wide Blogging World

OK, this is a request to you to tell me your favorite blogs that you read. Currently I’m mostly reading friends sites and haven’t ventured out into the big wide blogging world. That changed recently with Cake Wrecks (which has a hilarious one on there right now) and now with a couple of new sites.
The first one is another one from Clisty. Keep ‘em coming please. It’s thepioneerwoman.com Now the name of this site turned me off at first but I thought I’d give it a try. It’s a really quaint, witty, hip site about a woman who lived in LA then fell in love with a rancher who she calls Marlboro Man and now lives on his cattle ranch. She takes fabulous pictures and I haven’t checked it out but she has a whole recipe section too. Clisty says it can get a little boring but I’ll check it out.
Then, Summer sent me a link to a company that makes greeting cards with “Mormon” sayings in them. lineuponlinecards.com I hope they meant for these cards to be funny because they tickled me. One of the ones that caught my attention was: “Wishing you ANOTHER YEAR to make the most of your PROBATIONARY STATE”. I wish I knew what the makers motivation is. How seriously they take themselves. I definitely wouldn’t subscribe to this one but I might check in every once in a while to get a chuckle.
Summer also sent me, seriouslysoslessed.com. It’s a spoof on Mormon mommy blogs. When I first read it I was totally put off by it because I thought it was serious. ”Modest bikinis!?” But then I caught on. Now I think it’s dang funny. The nice thing is the site is sponsored so they currently have a pretty nice give away going on. You should check it out.

haha, I totally read seriously so blessed when I get a down moment. It is huhlariuz.
I got turned onto cakewrecks by you too. The kermit cake still makes me laugh, so gross.
Sometimes I read http://www.mormonmomma.com/ when I feel like I need a break from the world. I think it is a blog forumed by women in the same ward, and they post thoughts they have on spiritual stuff every week. Great place for ideas on church talks.
And when I’m bored I go to http://pickypalate.blogspot.com/ because it has great ideas for making food that kids will eat that isn’t just macaroni and cheese or spaghetti or corndogs.
But the one you’ll probably get the biggest kick out of is http://www.passiveaggressivenotes.com/ Basically people send in notes they wrote or that they’ve seen that are so funny! Like someone will leave an anonymous letter on someone’s front door telling them they’re making the neighborhood look trashy by leaving their garbage bins on the street too long. It is pretty funny. There are some good ones on there to peruse.

Okay, Alisa, I almost peed my pants reading the Line Upon Line cards, especially the one that says: “Families are Forever – Hope you like your in-laws”. I’m just so mad that I didn’t think of that business idea! I’m still not sure I “get” the seriouslysoblessed one. I guess I keep trying to think she’s for real! Keep these links coming. They’re great. I don’t know how people find all of these!

I didn’t tell you about thepioneerwoman cuz I didn’t think it would be your type of site. But she is really funny in how she writes. She grew up wealthy and privleged and wanted to be a big city high powered attorney. She ended up as a home schooling rancher’s wife in the boonies of Oklahoma.
Besides her sometimes funny stories about everyday life, there are good recipes and misc. stuff on her site, including stuff about learning photography, etc.

Pretty clever. Its just email forwards that circulate and some people delete them and some people forward them. Ha! I’m sure this one will get better and better the more posts it gets. Also, did I ever mention glittergonebad to you? Thats another one my sister told me about, and its pretty classic
