Pop Tarts
Posted in Fav Things by: Alisa
Yes, considering all that’s going on Pop Tarts are a rather silly thing to be blogging out but that’s exactly why I’m doing it. I love Pop Tarts. As far as I’m concerned a Pop Tart is good for breakfast or lunch (Or really anytime they pop into my mind. he he he). Now I don’t let my kids have Pop Tarts for lunch. That privilege is reserved solely for me. I am the main consumer of Pop Tarts in our home. I don’t feel bad about eating them because they have vitamins sprinkled into the delectably crunchy shell and ooey gooey filling. I like to toast my Pop Tarts until they are super crunchy and the filling will scald me. That’s when they are at their best. Then give me a cold glass of milk and I’m in toaster pastry heaven.
So I have two favorites that I keep stocked in the house and switch back and forth in between. One is Frosted Chocolate Fudge and the other is Frosted Cherry. I usually eat the fudge one with milk but I’ve had the Cherry one toasted and crumbled onto ice cream. Ooh. I get chills just thinking about it.
OK now. ’Fess up. What’s your favorite flavor and your favorite way to eat it?

I am a regular strawberry gal, exciting I know. My kids like the brown sugar & cinnamon.

They will do in a pinch…. (as you could tell from the open box when I last watched the kids at your house)
I do prefer toaster strudels, especially the raspberry ones. And if it has the cream cheese, then you have your grain, fruit, and dairy all in one. yum, yum.

I was 20 before I realized you were supposed to put them in the toaster–we just always ate them raw when I was a kid. Sorry to disappoint you, but nowadays I have no desire to eat another Pop Tart. But if I were really hungry and I only had Pop Tarts to choose from, I’d go with strawberry or blueberry (even with that creepy purple and blue crusty frosting).

I enjoyed reading this post. My sister used to send me boxes of them on my mission and I know that I haven’t eaten one since then. Not sure why. So after I read your post, I decided I had to get Pop Tarts (frosted strawberry, for sure). Fortunately, only Andrew was with me and he didn’t see them, so I can hide them and don’t have to share. My kids don’t even know what they are. Anyway, I had to eat one in the car so I didn’t get to toast it. I think I’ll go do that now!!! Thanks for the great suggestion!

oh yes, I just wish they were bigger! The perfect bite is a toasted crusty corner with a good amount of frost and filling.
Seems like we have tried most every kind. There is a new sort of flavor out, vanilla is it? I need to buy those. One time we bought the Kirkland organic kind, bad move. Gotta stay with Kellogg’s. They fly out of the pantry at my house.
I will always love strawberry, but blueberry and cherry are lovely too. Why the heck do they even make them naked? Such a waste! I remember getting those kind in elementary school at breakfast in the cafeteria, LAME!
Good thing they are somewhat affordable.
