Max’s 8th

IMG_2697Max turned the big 8 yesterday and things went really well for the birthday boy.  The festivities started Saturday night when we gave Max an early birthday present.  It was a Betta fish that Max named Colorful.  Even though we can’t touch Colorful we’ve tried to make sure the kids notice Colorful and talk to him and feed him and make sure he’s a part of our family.

IMG_2714I’ve got a picture here of Colorful and you’ll have to excuse the glare I tried several different settings on the camera and the use of a flashlight for lighting and these are the best photos I got.  He comes out much more vibrant on film than he looks in our drab living room.

IMG_2694Then on Sunday he chose Top Ramen for dinner and then the Schlegel’s and Grandma Sandy came over for cake and ice cream and presents.  He had a great time hanging out with family and loved all the attention on his special day.

Tru turns six.

img_2613Can you believe it? I know. It was just yesterday that I welcomed that boy into the Subaru. He is such a special kid. Always ready with hugs or karate chops depending on the occasion.

Oliver really looks up to Truman and looks forward to him coming home from school. Tru is doing great in school. He read Go Dogs Go! to me the other day.

img_2623As you can see from my last post he loves jokes and no matter how ridiculous they are he commits and delivers them flawlessly.

We had a birthday play date with three of his friends and they had a great time.  Then we had a family party with some cake and ice cream that evening.  Tru loved the attention.

Happy Birthday Truman!!

Do you guys have a baby?  Is he growing up?  Mine is too.  Oliver turned 4 this last week and he got three days of birthday. Grandparents Schlegel took our family to Chuck E Cheese’s where all four of my kids had a great time.  I have a great time too running around with them, watching them play games and ride rides.  Then on his birthday we went to the park with our friends for Park Day.  Oli’s favorite thing to do is swing so I made sure to push him a ton when we first got there.  Then he got to pick his birthday dinner which was pancakes.  At least he made it easy on us, right?  Then we had cake and ice-cream the next day with the local grandparents.  Oli loved all of his gifts and had so much fun being a birthday boy.

Happy Birthday to me!!

Since my mom outed me on my own blog, everyone knows it was just my birthday. I actually don’t mind at all.  Thanks for all your birthday greetings by the way. I’m 31 now and it feels great. I just wanted to share the fabulous gift that Scott got me. It’s a stereo for my van that works with our iPod and my iPhone. Not only did he buy a great stereo but he installed it himself!! My man can install a car stereo! I love it when he does manly things like this. I’m pretty stoked about it. Now I can listen to Harry Potter in stereo. It doesn’t get any better than that. Oh, did you think I was going to use it for music or some adult book (get your mind out of the gutter) reading. Nope, I’m all about HP, over and over and over again. It’s a sickness. I heard the audio for Lord of the Rings is pretty good too, maybe I’ll check that out next. Those are my loves, HP, LOTR (and The Hobbit) and Twilight. I just can’t get enough of them.

Thank you Scott, I’ll see you and your manly hands tonight.  Ooh baby!

Truman is 5 years old now.  Can you believe it?  I can’t.  I remember very well the day he was born and how wonderful he was.  Still is for that matter.  It’s so wonderful to have Truman in our family.  He’s so fiery and passionate about life, and Star Wars.  He had a great time with his Grandma Sandy and Grandma and Grandpa Schlegel at his family party.  We’ll be having a play date some time next week with a couple of friends.  He says his favorite gift is the Incredibles game for the Playstation.  Happy Birthday Truman!!
