I’m not normally one of those moms that thinks everything her kid does is cute but I came across this video totally by chance today and couldn’t help but share it.  You see…several years ago when Max was about four I had this brilliant idea.  You know that Letter Factory kid movie where they teach the kids the sounds of the letters?  Well, it was a big hit in our house so I thought for Christmas I would record the kids doing the letters and sounds and make it into a video for their cousins.  Well, it turned out to be a ridiculous feat to get the kids to cooperate.  From the video footage it would seem I got all the way to “P” but we actually breezed through all the letters without any usable footage.  Except for a gag reel of course.  Plus it was late November so I had a time limit anyways.  Bottom line, the video never got made.

My favorite scenes are Max saying, “Oh the cAmara (with that inflection).  I’m looking at it.”  While standing on his head.  And then at the very end when Tru is following through with what “P” says and pauses dramatically before making the sound.  Oh, man.  Those kids were ridiculous.

Max watched this with me and said, “Truman still does that to me.”  He does.  Thanks for letting me share a little piece of our history.

I’m probably behind the times here but my cousin had this video on her blog and I was really impressed with it.  Instead of being photos of paintings put to music it is live photos.  The photographers did a really fabulous job capturing the message of their photos from the life of Christ.  There were a couple of shots, like Christ on the cross, that looked like paintings to me but I don’t know.  This really caught me off guard.  I enjoyed it a lot.

Thank goodness these fabulous teasers keep coming out. It’s totally preparing me for the movie and how different it is going to be. I need preparing too because the books are so real to me.  They already play like a movie in my head. It looks like so much fun though.

This was such a cute photo I couldn’t help but share it.  These are some of the kids in our walking group that we have in the morning.  This morning Truman decided to stick his head through the gate dividing our complex from the park and got it stuck.  I couldn’t get it out.  I tried and tried and finally Cynthia suggested I call the fire department.  As I was on the phone and a fire truck was being dispatched Laura L. came over and with superhuman strength pulled the bars apart and got Tru’s head out.  What a relief.  After reassuring the dispatch lady that I didn’t need an ambulance to check him out for injuries I hung up the phone.  He’s still pretty shaken about it but he is just fine.  I am really glad Laura got him out of there before the fire department was actually dispatched.  I asked Tru why he put put his head through the bars and he said he was trying to show Oli something.  What that something was I can’t figure out but I don’t think he’ll be doing that any time soon.  At least I hope he wont.  At least I know who to call now if he does.  That’s right, it’s you Laura.

I had the greatest time talking with my kids at bedtime last night.  Truman asked if jet packs were real since he plays Boba and Jango Fett on Lego Star Wars.  Well thank goodness I watch Mythbusters because I was able to tell him that they were in fact real, but not practical to use.  I then went on YouTube and found some jet packs for him to check out.  You see, the problem is that you can’t carry enough fuel to get very far.  You carry more fuel and then the pack is too heavy to lift off the ground.  Quite the problem.  So the jet packs that I have seen only stay in the air for like 30 seconds.  Not really long enough to get you to work.  It could get me to the park, but then I couldn’t get back.  Oh what would I do then?  I’m attaching one of the videos that Truman and I found.

So I realize my movie making skills are not that great and the picture quality is terrible but I had so much fun making this. I am seriously in love with our new car. Well, Scott’s new car but he has the van this week so I get it. I was even able to drive it over 17 yesterday and oh man was it fun. I feel like I’m driving a sports car it’s so fast. Like every stop sign is a starting line and I have a race to finish. It’s solid when it turns too; really corners well. I seriously feel like I’m 20 when I’m driving it. Like I have a sleek, solid body and can do anything I want. Like super powers anything I want. That’s how cool it feels.

This is the funniest game show I have ever seen. Trying to fit your body into ridiculous shapes or take a drink. What a great idea.

So this is long but worth every second. Ok. I’m about to say one of the stupidest things ever, but I never think of Korean people playing the drums, or the electric guitar for that matter. This was culturally enlightening. Keep your eyes on the drummer he’s what it’s all about. My favorite part was when he was head banging and half of his hair stuck to his forehead and half went flying in the air. He definitely stole the show.

Saturday was our Ward Primary Talent show. We showcased our kids lightsaber skills. There’s a point at the end where Oli thrusts his lightsaber into the ground and blasts Scott backward. Oh man, I love our family. The kids were totally stoked when we were done and Scott and I had so much fun.

This is last year’s talent show where they kids rode their scooters. They also had a blast with this one and were totally talking about it for days. Good times! (YouTube)

OK. I totally buy Robert Pattinson as Edward. Totally. I’m so excited. I’m still having trouble with Kristen Stewart as Bella but I’m sure I’ll come around. So needless to say I will be watching this over and over and over again.

So here’s my video. My favorite parts are Oli singing the theme song, Max lying on the floor and fighting with Grandma Schlegel, and Scott taking no prisoners throughout. Watch out for Tru, he’s got a wicked spin attack.

Star Wars is big in our house right now. The kids love the original three movies. They’ve beaten but continue to play both Lego Star Wars games for PS2. They are constantly pretending to be using the force; mostly on me. They rotate through which character they’re going to be for Halloween (yes, they’re already planning for it). It’s pretty much always on their minds. It doesn’t help that Scott bought each of us our own lightsabers. Scott and I have red ones which in the movies mean the Dark Side, but I don’t really see it that way. Strict? Yes. Evil? No. It is always us against them though. Their favorite game is for Scott to hide and then when they find him they battle to the death.   

My friend Amy N. just sent me this link about Bella’s Lullaby being in the movie. Apparently Robert Pattinson (Edward) is a musician and he’s one of the many people composing a song for the movie. Wild.

Scott found this one for me (best husband ever). On the set of Twilight. I’m not sure about the Edward hunting and running on the treetops but I guess it will make things interesting. What’s your take on that?

I was on Stephenie Meyer’s site today thanks to my RSS feed and saw that some new clips were posted on MTV.com. The fun part is a little clip of Jacob. If you look down at the bottom of the player you’ll see his face. They don’t show him acting at all just little clips of him in costume. It was really good to see him because most of the photos I’ve seen of him have been when he’s younger (imdb).
