Does this need an explanation?  I gave him the phone to talk to Grandma Schlegel and then he left my sight.  I went to do laundry and found him in the bathroom saying, “No, one poo grandma.”  So obviously I thought it was funny and I took a picture.  I love boys!

Primary Talent Show 08

Saturday was our Ward Primary Talent show. We showcased our kids lightsaber skills. There’s a point at the end where Oli thrusts his lightsaber into the ground and blasts Scott backward. Oh man, I love our family. The kids were totally stoked when we were done and Scott and I had so much fun.

This is last year’s talent show where they kids rode their scooters. They also had a blast with this one and were totally talking about it for days. Good times! (YouTube)

Star Wars

So here’s my video. My favorite parts are Oli singing the theme song, Max lying on the floor and fighting with Grandma Schlegel, and Scott taking no prisoners throughout. Watch out for Tru, he’s got a wicked spin attack.

Star Wars is big in our house right now. The kids love the original three movies. They’ve beaten but continue to play both Lego Star Wars games for PS2. They are constantly pretending to be using the force; mostly on me. They rotate through which character they’re going to be for Halloween (yes, they’re already planning for it). It’s pretty much always on their minds. It doesn’t help that Scott bought each of us our own lightsabers. Scott and I have red ones which in the movies mean the Dark Side, but I don’t really see it that way. Strict? Yes. Evil? No. It is always us against them though. Their favorite game is for Scott to hide and then when they find him they battle to the death.

First Swim

Yesterday Jana invited us over to swim in her pool.  The sun was nice and warm, but not warm enough for me to get in the pool.  I watched the kids from the deck and the hot tub.  Since I wouldn’t get in an help them with their swimming skills Max and Tru used their kick boards to get around and Oli wore his life jacket.  I’m real proud of Oli because he swam across the hot tub.  This is a huge step for him because last year he screamed every time I took him in the water.  One time he screamed to hard he fell asleep in my arms.  Like I said, big step here.  We had a great time and are really happy we live in sunny California.

These are pictures from last weekend when it was nice and windy until we got our kite out. Then it stopped dead. Oh well, we got one good flight from it and the kids had a great time running around trying to catch it while it fell. Thanks Brandon and Maria for the fun kite!

Scott built this nifty little blog for me so thanks a bunch hon. I feel like I reached deep into my feminine side with this one. The other theme I had picked out had a skull and cross-bones on it. I think I finally picked this one because I thought people would be more comfortable looking at it. Hope that’s true. So this should be my home for a good long time. Scott got us our own domain name and everything. He’s really trying to turn me into a geek. What with all the comic book movies and the kids being obsessed with Star Wars I’m wandering in that direction already. Pretty much got all the same features plus new ones. For instance you can click on Twilight in the Categories and it will pull up all the Twilight posts I’ve made. Pretty cool. The other bit of news is that you don’t have to register to make a comment. Well, welcome. We’re glad you’re here.

btw From what I can tell my bipolar episode is almost over. Yippee. It hasn’t been fun but it sure feels good to be on this side of it.

Spring Break

We’ve had a really fun, really low key Spring Break.  We hung out at the Schlegel’s house, the park, our house and yesterday we went to the beach with the Sharps and Geddes.  I knew the way so Lisa and Julianne followed me.  So of course I missed my exit on to 85.  Thankfully there’s a second way to get on so it wasn’t too embarrassing.  When we got to the beach I was about to put my jeans on that I brought.  But I stuck it out and not too long afterwards I’d taken my top off.  Don’t worry, I had a bathing suit on underneath.  The kids had a great time throwing a football in to the waves and letting them carry it back.  There wasn’t too much sand play but there was enough to bring some home with us.  I of course got fried.  Didn’t put any sunscreen on my legs and paid the price.  And I’ve got some nice raccoon eyes from my sunglasses.  Sorry I don’t have a picture of that for you.  All in all we’ve had a great week.  Especially since the weather has been fabulous.

On Saturday we spent the day at the Schlegel’s house.  We had a lot of fun just hanging out in the nice weather.  Scott even got a nap in on a blanket in the front yard.  These photos are taken from my iPhone.  Best phone EVER!

Scott’s Birthday

It’s time again for my wonderful husband’s birthday.  He’s not a big cake fan so he asked for candy instead.  I made him a circus peanuts cake then gave him a bag the kids decorated filled with candy.  I think it’s safe to say his favorite gift is his red lightsaber.  Happy birthday love of my existence!!!

We went to Happy Hollow the Monday after Easter with the Sharps and the Rists.  The kids had a great time running wild.  Oliver ran off and I had to get Jana to go one way while I went the other to find him.  Are you noticing a recent theme here?  We’re having such good weather it’s nice to get outside and do something fun.

Sorry for the late post.  We had a great time for Easter.  On the Saturday before we met Brandon and family with my mom in Walnut Creek for an Spring Egg Hunt.  We lost Oliver and had the guy at the Red Tent call out for us on the loud speaker.  I’m sorry to say, I thought it was pretty funny.  But I didn’t know he was lost until that moment so I had no time to worry about him.  All in all, a really good day.  On Sunday the Easter Bunny and the grandparents left some small items for the kids.  They had a great time.

Truman is 5 years old now.  Can you believe it?  I can’t.  I remember very well the day he was born and how wonderful he was.  Still is for that matter.  It’s so wonderful to have Truman in our family.  He’s so fiery and passionate about life, and Star Wars.  He had a great time with his Grandma Sandy and Grandma and Grandpa Schlegel at his family party.  We’ll be having a play date some time next week with a couple of friends.  He says his favorite gift is the Incredibles game for the Playstation.  Happy Birthday Truman!!

Max’s school picture was just ridiculous.  There’s no way I was going to put it on my wall for a year, so I decided to have my own photo shoot with Max.  I tried it on two separate occasions and the pictures also weren’t what I wanted.  So I ended up taking him to a portrait studio and getting some good photos.  Even though they’re not professional quality, here are the two photo shoots I did at home with him.

Max is 6 now and he’s loving first grade.  Math is his favorite subject and we really hope that holds out.  He’s taking a sports class where they learn about soccer, baseball, football and softball.  Scott’s been watching him and says he’s having a ton of fun.  Max is a great brother; he watches out for Tru and Oli and teaches them new things.  It’s great to watch.

Oh my gosh!!!  It has been so beautiful here.  I was seriously at the park the other day in a t-shirt.  And that’s saying a lot for me.  It’s so amazing how free a clear sky and warm day can make you feel.  Brandon and Maria and the kids came down for the day and we spent some time letting the kids play together at De Anza park.  Miss you guys.  On a totally different note, I just finished this series and it was so much fun.  The last book I couldn’t put down.  Totally action packed.  The first book is called Uglies by Scott Westerfeld.  Check it out.

My Hero

So Scott is really an amazing husband.  It’s going on 9 years now that we’ve been married and he is just incredible. I wanted to share two recent happenings that really made me appreciate him even more.  I was fiddling around with the blog the other day and somehow made one of my widgits transparent – almost invisible.  I played with it for hours and nothing I did made any difference.  I was going to start from scratch and lose some of my work when Scott came home.  I mentioned to him what the problem was, picked up the ringing phone, talked for about 2 minutes, turned around and Scott had fixed my problem.  Two minutes. If even that.  Then I somehow crashed our mail app and deleted all of our mailboxes.  Again, hours of work trying to fix it.  Scott came home, fiddled a little, and it was done.  There are so many ways in which I can’t live without Scott, computer skills being one of the least, but it’s just a good reminder of how wonderful he really is.  I love you Scott.
